E Summit

Enabling Ordinary People to do Extraordinary Things

The mission of the Kent Environmental Summit is to inform participants about pressing environmental issues and to present them with concrete actions to address these problems on a local and personal level.

What happens after the conference is as important as the conference itself.

Our goal is to encourage ongoing, individual and collaborative actions to create a sustainable community. We believe that civic engagement and community action can produce measurable results and offer valuable models for other communities.

Picnic!

The Kent Land Trust Memorial Day Picnic on May 25, 2009 at the Fair Grounds was a great success; we shared lots of information on recycling, conservation, and alternative energies.

Many residents were interested in participating in our Green Map and in becoming more active in making Kent a greener place to live.

40 people ‘Took the Pledge’ and each one rated in the top three levels of conservation efforts!

There was a composter on display as well as lots of information on solar programs, state incentives, and alternative energy options.

Thanks to the Kent Land Trust for organizing such a wonderful event!
